G. Wylie Pillers III

  G. Wylie Pillers III is a highly experienced attorney based in Clinton, Iowa, recognized for more than five decades of legal service. His legal experience spans contracts, corporate law, labor and employment law, real estate, probate, trusts, estates, and comprehensive estate planning. He is currently Of Counsel at Pillers & Richmond.

Mr. Pillers began his academic career at Valparaiso University, earning his B.A. in Business and Accounting in 1963, followed by his J.D. from Valparaiso University Law School in 1965. He was admitted to the Iowa Bar in 1965 and to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa shortly thereafter. His education also includes specialized training in labor law and negotiations.

Mr. Pillers began his legal career in private general practice in Clinton, Iowa in 1965, a practice he maintained through 2024. He served as Clinton County Attorney from 1969 to 1985, following his earlier role as Assistant County Attorney from 1967 to 1969. In addition to his private practice and role as Clinton County Attorney, Mr. Pillers successfully negotiated labor contracts for Clinton County and Public Safety Unions for over 50 years. 

Throughout his career, Mr. Pillers has been an active member of key legal organizations, including the American Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association, Clinton County Bar Association, and multiple federal bar districts, including the North District of Iowa and Central District of Illinois. He also served extensively within the National District Attorneys Association, holding leadership roles including Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and President in 1985. 

Beyond his legal accomplishments, Mr. Pillers has been deeply engaged in public and charitable service, contributing to organizations such as the Clinton Rotary Club, Trinity Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran Church, the Rock Falls Barbershop Chorus, the Clinton County Republican Party, and the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee.

Today, G. Wylie Pillers III is known not only for his legal acumen but also for his enduring commitment to the community he has served for over half a century. His career reflects a legacy of leadership, integrity, and public service in Clinton County and the State of Iowa.
